Baby Shower Cake!

This week I made a cake for my co-worker, Michelle's baby shower. She is due on December 3rd so we decided to throw her a baby shower with just people from work. It was tons of fun! The cake I made coordinates with the nursery. She is having a little girl and the nursery has monkeys and different shades of pink and brown along with some other colors.

This was my first attempt at a 3 layer cake. I think it turned out well for my first attempt. :)

This cake was also my first attempt at modeling chocolate. I mixed it and put it in the fridge and then came back to it and it was hard as a ROCK. I had no idea what to do with it. But, I found out that you have to pound at it, which I did, and it became like a tootsie roll. The above, is the monkey with just the modeling chocolate, before I decorated it.
and, here is the after. I think she turned out pretty well. :)

It turned out great. I love it. You did such an awsome job, and so brave. 3 layers. That is tough. and your chocolate molding. SO NEAT. and the monkey tuned out so cute.
