10 months!

Oh, 10 months. Really? Already? These girls are getting more cute, funny, and smart as each day passes. It is amazing how far they have come from those first days when we were so nervous for them and their future. They both amaze us and we love to see the new things they can do. This past month was no exception with new and fun things. I focused on taking more pictures this past month, so we had lots of pictures to choose from so there are a lot, but these aren't even all the cute ones! I guess I will have to start doing more than the monthly post.

The girls adore their daddy and he has so much fun with them! I love to see him interact with them and to see them get so excited.

And we love our Gammy! Gammy and Papa were able to come visit in February. We had lots of fun shopping, going out to eat, and just hanging out. This was the only picture I got--I guess I was too busy for picture taking.

Lyla Jane...
16 lbs 7 oz (17%--that's right folks, Lyla's love for food has paid off and she is now in double digit percentage for her age AND is the same weight as sister!)
26 inches (2%--still short, but we expected that of our children)  :)

Lyla...
-is crawling! mostly just army crawling with some hands and feet crawling here and there
-pulls herself up on shorter levels (carseat, boxes, mommy/daddy when we are on the floor)
- LOVES to blow raspberries. Especially while eating, which mommy dislikes
-has actually started jumping in the jumperoo and is loving it
-hips are becoming a lot looser, which is helping with the crawling, jumping, and pretty much everything
-claps by hitting both hands on her stomach...SO cute

We have been loving the weather recently. Warm enough to go outside without jackets and crawl around while playing with bubbles.

And both have fallen asleep in the jumperoo now.

 Typical Lyla face:: wide eyes!

Kendal Mae...
16 lbs. 7 oz. (16%)
27.5 inches (30%)

Kendal...
-crawls everywhere. LOVES to follow us everywhere we go. get in to everything.
-pulls herself up on everything and is 'cruising' along
-claps hands together when we clap our hands
-"waves" (not the conventional wave, more of a "come here" gesture)--does it to say hi, express excitement, and to say come here to her sister
-LOVES the game 1-2-3 JUMP
-makes a cheesy smile

 SO proud of herself

Kendal and Lyla...

-Eating: tried avocados, cauliflower, yogurt, bread, mango
Self feed: avocados, rice crackers, bananas, peaches, pears, cheerios, pancake, bread, puffs
Favorites: apples/blueberries, bananas, mango, yogurt, rice crackers, sweet potatoes
Dislike: meats
Liquid: have breastmilk/formula 4-5 times a days, have water out of a cup once a day

-Breastfeeding Situation: we came to the stage where the girls were getting distracted too often while breastfeeding and the bottles were much faster/more satisfying. So, I stopped breastfeeding all together and now pump while they have bottles. They still get about half breastmilk/half formula. I am so ready for their one year birthday to stop pumping. I would stop now, but I am just so close to one year and I might as well.

Sleeping: has been heavenly. Crossing my fingers it stays that way. The girls have had multiple night of 12-13 hours of straight sleep! It is awesome! I would say out of the past 2 weeks they slept all through the night 9 of those nights. I love getting solid sleep. They are also taking about 2 naps a day. Not very long naps, but we have started a pretty consistent schedule, which is nice for me. Oh, and we also just started putting them to bed with a blanket in their crib. We have been a little obsessive about preventing SIDS especially since the girls didn't breath on their own for so long. They have slept in their cribs with nothing but a sheet on the mattress up until a few nights ago. We bought little fleece sleeper sack things to keep them warmer at night. Now we started putting a light blanket over them. They don't even seem to notice a difference.

-are starting to dance. they will bounce up and down when music is on.

-so excited for summer! we love this warm weather. we usually go on a run in the morning and a walk in the afternoon. they love taking naps in the stroller and looking around at the trees. I'm excited to take them swimming, go to a park when they start walking, have picnics, and all the other fun things you can do in the summer. :) I've already started a summer bucket list.

P.S. It may seem like the girls are naked 90% of the time, but it is really only like 50% :) I hate getting food all over their clothes so I take their clothes off before every meal, which results in them playing in just a diaper afterwards for awhile usually.

oh my goodness. I could just eat them up. Yay Lyla for putting on some weight! They are both adorable. And Kendal's cheese face is to die for. :)
