28 weeks! Third trimester! 7th month!

Let's start with the belly picture:

I have been told it looks like a basketball under my shirt....but I'm beginning to think I've moved on to a beach ball or something similar to that. :)

The Girls: We went to the perinatologist on Friday and everything is still looking fabulous. The girls are right on track for development. They are both weighing 2 lbs. 7 oz. which is awesome. They are still moving a ton--which I suppose is good, means they have room still. I can feel them hiccup now and they continue to push out making my belly look strangely shaped. We also got to experience some 3D ultrasound on Friday. We didn't get any good shots, but we did see parts of their faces (nose, eyes, lips, hand). They are definitely going to be cute. :)

How I'm doing: My body seems to be taking to carrying twins quite well I think. I don't think anyone thought I would make it this far in my job. I have had to make some accommodations to make work more comfortable. Being a preschool teacher requires a lot of moving. I have had to make sure I sit when I can, have started using an exercise ball as my chair, and bought some ugly crocs so my feet and hips don't hurt by the end of the day. Luckily, my staff and families are very understanding and helpful. I'm still hoping to make it to the end of the year--only 6 more weeks of actual school. If anything I hope to at least make it working part time or something.

What's coming: I have made a checklist of things to do each week leading up to their birth. Hopefully we can steadily get everything ready. This week includes finishing the car seat covers and buying another swing. I have an appointment in a couple weeks with my OB. At 32 weeks I go in for another ultrasound with the perinatologist and a non-stress test. I will have non-stress tests weekly until they are born. They monitor the girls' heartbeats to see if they are in distress or anything.
10 weeks or less! The time has flown by and I can only hope the next 10 weeks go by just as fast. I am so excited to meet these little girls and Leigh is getting anxious to feel more than a kick here and there on my belly.
